100g tub treats 5000 gallons. Requires brewing in warm water for up to 12 hours. 1 million freeze dried bacteria multiply to about 4 billion when brewed.
CANNOT HARM FISH OR PLANTS (except Blanket Weed)
Available in 100g tubs (suitable for 5000 gallons). Consists of freeze dried bacteria of the four strains mentioned above combined with nutrient cereal. By tipping the contents of this tub into a bucket of warm water and aerating with an air stone for 12 hours, the bacteria multiply from say 1 million to 4 billion. The liquor is then tipped into the pond and the bacteria consume the same food required by the Blanket Weed as mentioned above. The effect is quite dramatic and the Blanket Weed dies off quite quickly. Repeat doses will be required throughout the year with more being required in hot sunny weather. The U.V. light should be turned off for 7 days otherwise it will destroy the bacteria.
NB: The bacteria are COMPLETEY HARMLESS to fish and plants. You cannot overdose the pond.
Tips: Even though each 100g tub treats 5000 gallons you should put ALL the contents into the bucket even if your pond is much smaller. The more bacteria you have the quicker the weed will go.
INSTRUCTIONS
Add the contents of the tub to a bucket of warm water and IF you have an air stone (a small porous stone used in the bottom of fish tanks through which air is blown to diffuse it) so much the better as the use of this will decrease the brewing time. Keep in a warm place for 12 hours until brewed. Remove any “froth” on surface. Pour into pond. TURN OFF U.V. Repeat monthly or as necessary. Will work within 7-10 days.
